THE RETURN!

It's been sometime since anything was written on here and the band are aware that there were rumours that they were to be no more. Several issues needed to be sorted, but the boys are back and raring to go.

As some of you know, drummer Martyn 'Boris' Collins has now left the band. Boris and his wife had a baby and Boris decided that the commitment to his young child meant that he could not fully commit to the band. He leaves with our best wishes.

So that presented us with a problem; how to replace him. It would be no understatement to say that this has been a long and exhausting process. But the band knew who they wanted and now we can confirm that Boris will be replaced by James Middleton.

James is a drummer of much repute and many will know him as the former drummer of Lincoln band The Rays.

In the meantime, the band have been working with Producer Chris Brown who has worked with Radiohead and Muse amongst others and who has been mixing some of the songs that were recorded at Chapel Studios last year. The results are highly impressive and will be available to hear here in due course.

At present, the band are rehearsing and writing new material with James now firmly in place . We shall also shortly announce several new gig's, one of which promises to be very special. So keep checking for updates and thanks as ever for your great support.

FRIDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2007

Gaz Leaving The Band

The band are sad to announce that after much difficult discussion with Gaz, regarding his long term commitments to the band, it was felt that he was no longer able to play a key role in the bands development. He was informed of this decision on Friday 07/09/07, and accepted the news in the manner we would have expected. Although gravely upset and disappointed, his reaction was graceful and dignified.

He brought much to the band, and it is no exaggeration to admit that without his influence, there would probably be no Southpark Roundabout today.

We all wish him well for the future, and hope that he prospers in everything that he does. He deserves it.

MONDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER

Southpark Roundabout will headline the RawMezzfest at Lincoln University Pavillions Student Complex, on Saturday 29th September 2007.

NEW TRACKS

The band continue to work on new material. We are pleased to announce that Chris Brown will be working with the band mixing two new songs. Chris has previously worked with such artists as Radiohead, Muse, Primal Scream and Starsailor. The band are excited to be working with such a talent.

FRIDAY 17TH AUGUST

More information about this in due course.

Monday 5th February 2007

The band are aware that several pieces of footage have been posted of them playing live on You Tube. Some of the quaility isn't that good but Bring 'Em Home and Feel (what there is of them) sound great. Most of the footage is from one of the Perspective Jazz Bar gigs in December 2006. Whilst it has nothing to do with the band, oever, we've no problem with it!

If you want to check them out, go to You Tube and put Southpark Roundabout (some of them are actually posted under SPR) into the search engine.

The band have no public gig's booked in the next month, though we have several private ones. We have taken no bookings (and won't unless we are offered large amounts of money!) as the band will be in the recording studio in early March and they are working on and perfecting new songs. The new songs are the best material that they have ever done and will be worth waiting for.

Tuesday 16th January 2006

The band were very busy over the Christmas period. They played a further gig at Perspective Jazz Bar in Lincoln on December 21st 2006, followed that up two nights later with a private gig in the City and preformed several more private gig's in the New Year.

The Perspective gig saw the first hearing of more new songs and the performance was topped by a classic version of the Stone Roses This is the One.

At present the band are putting more work into the tracks in Johnny's studio before they head off to record them in February. The demo's are sounding superb and in the bands opinion this is the strongest material that they have ever written. Due to the recording committments there will be no public gig's in the short term but the new songs will shortly be available to listen to on the site.

Keep checking for new updates.
